Full Day Child Care

 The Abington YMCA full day child care program offers a nurturing environment in which children can grow, explore and learn while providing parents the opportunity to work without worry.  Our goal is to promote a healthy spirit, mind and body in each child attending our program.  As the children grow they participate in developmentally appropriate activities that promote self-esteem responsibility and school readiness.

Our program offers:

• State licensed and participant of Keystone Stars Program
• Qualified professional staff
• Developmentally appropriate activities using the creative curriculum for infants 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten
• Theme based learning centers with balance of large and small group activities.
• 3, 4, and 5 year old classrooms include a computer center, gym class and swimming instruction
• Morning and afternoon snacks are provided
• Outdoor playground as well as access to indoor movement areas during inclement weather.
• Operating hours 7am to 6:30pm
• Financial Assistance available.

Children with Disabilities

Children with disabilities are welcome to enroll in all of our YMCA programs.  One on one care is not available but wrap around workers may accompany a child.

Sibling Discount

There is a 10% discount applied to the sibling paying the lowest rate for child care.  (applies to all Child Care Programs).

School Age Childcare 

Before School Care

This program is offered to any child in kindergarten through 6th grade attending a public school in Abington School District.  A YMCA membership is required.  Before-school care is offered at the Abington YMCA beginning at 7am on days that Abington School District elementary schools are in session.  Under the supervision of YMCA staff, children participate in gym activities and are transported to school by 8:50am.  Before school care is offered at McKinley Elementary School for McKinley students beginning at 7:30am.

After School Care

The After School program services McKinley, Roslyn, Willow Hill, Overlook, Highland, Copper Beach and Rydal Elementary schools for students in grades K-6.  The program begins at 3:20pm when school is dismissed and ends at 6pm.  Program includes scheduled homework help time, a snack and recreation activities every day, and, at least once a week, special programs such as yoga, chess, arts and crafts and more.
