Preteens ages 8-12 are invited to participate in well planned supervised activities; pool games, pizza and refreshments, movies, gym time and many more new and old favorites. Spend some time at the Y (and let your parents enjoy a Friday night out).

Tween and Teen Use of the Fitness Center
The YMCA recognizes the need for children to use the Fitness Center and has lowered the age policy to include children ages 10 and older. Participating children must complete a Fitness Center Orientation and be accompanied by a parent that is working out in the Fitness center. Children, age 13-16 may use the Fitness Center unsupervised after completion of a Fitness Center Orientation.

Y-TRI
Join our Young Triathletes! Participants will challenge themselves in the area of biking, swimming, and running. Have fun and get in shape this winter and then participate in a Mini-Triathlon in the Spring! All those interested should call Courtney Izett, Aquatic Director at 610-649-0700, ext. 1409.
Who? 10-16 year olds. Must be able to correctly swim freestyle 2 lengths of the pool.

Teen Spinning
A fun class for everyone from beginner to advanced athlete - while you are riding, enjoy good music and a unique atmosphere. The instructor is always more than willing to answer any and all questions.
Teen Personal Training
Teen personal training is a great way to start a lifetime fitness program or to prepare for a seasonal sport. You will be matched with a trainer that you feel comfortable with and who can help you meet your goals. You can register for just one session or a series of trainings.

Main Line YMCA Preswim Team - Dolphins (Ages 6-14 years)
Try Main Line Y’s PreSwim Team for an exciting introduction to competitive swimming. This program develops swimmers’ strokes and improves them so that they can swim on a competitive swim team. The theory is that if the stroke is technically proficient, the swimmer will swim faster and more effectively.
WHO? 6-14 year olds at Fish level and up, or any swimmers who are able to correctly swim freestyle (front crawl), breaststroke, and backstroke (back crawl).
WHAT? Children will be coached on these strokes plus learn butterfly. They will also be taught competitive starts, turns, and finishes.
WHEN & WHERE? Practices are held Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:15 - 6:15 PM at the MLY. The first 15 minutes will be dry land exercises and information; then into the pool.
This is a 2 day/week activity.
All swimmers must wear goggles. Girls and boys with long hair must wear a bathing cap. Girls must wear a one-piece swimsuit. For more information, please call the Aquatic Office, ext. 1409.

Y Achievers

YMCA Achievers is a developmentally based, extracurricular, educational and team mentoring program designed to help 5th-12th Grade students of color prepare for and enact impactful, fulfilled livelihoods in college and beyond. The Y Achievers program was created with the following 3 goals:
- To encourage youth to set and achieve high educational, personal, and professtional goals,
- To help youth create positive mentoring relationships with adults who have achieved personal and professional success, and to acknowledge both for their efforts in this regard,
- and to create channels for continuing community investmant & involvement by business and industry.
These goals are chieved by hosting a variety of activities specific to each level of program participation;all activities however fall under 5 Programmatic Thrusts: Career Exploration, COllege Readiness, Leadership Development, Personal (Character) Development, and COmmunity Investment.
Y Achievers workshops are held at various days and times at all of our YMCA Branches, as well as on 1st & 3rd Saturdays at Drexel University for students in grades 9-12. The program operates at four program levels: Youth Achievers (5-6th grade), Tourist Achievers (7-8th grade), Teen Achievers (9-10th grade), and Future Leaders (11-12th grade). Registration for the 2009 program is December 1, 2008 through January 13, 2009.
Participation in the Y Achievers program is free. All student Achievers receive a free YMCA membership.

Enjoy our baby & toddler play area. Accompany your child in our stimulating movement environment. Drop in for a half hour or more! Child must not be left unsupervised. Great way to engage your younger child while your older sibling is taking a gymnastics class right next door!

YMCA Preschool Sports
This is a noncompetetive sports program for 3-5 year olds. Children learn the basic fundamentals of team sports while having fun! Parent involvement is encouraged, coaching opportunities are available in some programs.
Little Sports
This class will give your child a fun way to learn the basics of sports, from learning about being a good sport, cheering on your friends, and taking turns. The children will learn about baseball, hockey, soccer, and football.

YGYMNASTICS
Progressive Gymnastics Ages 3-12
Our co-ed gymnastics classes are designed so that students will progress through levels 1-3 of the gymnastics skill levels. Students are evaluated for their current level the first class they attend. Squad assignment is by level.
Safe solid instruction in tumbling, bar skills (high bar for boys, uneven for girls), balance, vault, strength, and flexibility.
For reasons of safety and modesty, proper attire is required for gymnastics class participation. Girls must wear a leotard (any sleeve length) without belts or skirts. Boys must wear elastic waist shorts (no zippers, snaps, or belt loops) and a t-shirt that tucks into shorts. All participants are barefoot for class (no leggings, tights, or warm-up pants).
Gymnastics classes for participants ages 3- 8 are held in the AP room.
Gymnastics classes for participants ages 9-12 and level 3 are held in the gymnasium.

Preschool Parties!
(2-5 years old) Have a fun party for your preschooler that is easy for the parents. A Ymca party leader who works with preschoolers will facilitate games, music, dancing, singing and tumbling for your child and his or her friends. The Birthday boy or girl will receive a Free Birthday T-Shirt.

Gym Parties!
(5years and up)Parties in the gym provide a variety of possibilities. Basketball, indoor soccer, and street hockey are a few examples, but let your child decide. The Main Line YMCA staff will provide structure and guidance for the activity or game of your choice. Separate rooms are available for cake cutting and celebrating. The birthday boy or girl will receive a Free T-Shirt.
