Special Needs One-on-one Personal Training in the Wellness Center/Pool; Camp Magic meets through the summer and several times throughout the year.

Friday, September 26th from 6pm-8pm "September Sampler".  We will offer a little "Hip-Hop", some "Sports Lite" and an hour of swim time.  Parents are welcome to participate.  A lite refreshment will be served.  There is no charge for this event, but please let us know if you plan on attending.

Thanks to a grant from the Widener Memorial Foundation, the YMCA now has a wheelchair ramp, electronic doors, a pool lift and an elevator that serves most of the program areas and would like to do more to serve those children with physical limitations.  Some things being considered include wheelchair sports, play groups and arts and crafts.  Before embarking on this project the Y would like to meet with interested parents to discuss what kinds of activities they would like their children to participate in.  Interested parents should call Dyanne at X2112.  The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 1st at the YMCA beginning at 6:00pm.

Safe Sitter
Babysitter Training Program

Safe Sitter teaches adolescent babysitters how to handle crises, how to keep their charges secure, and how to nurture and guide a young child.  In short, Safe Sitter babysitters help children stay safe and sound while their parents are away.  In the process, these 11-to 13-year-olds emerge as more confident, responsible and compassionate teens and adults.  Their instructors thrive on making a difference in the lives of these adolescents and the children in their care.  Register now at the Membership Desk.

Mom's Club of Philadelphia

The Mom's Club of Philadelphia will be meeting at the Roxborough YMCA the 4th Friday of every month in the Child-Watch room.  The meetings are a time to discuss upcoming activities and vote on issues concerning the club.  Some weeks there may be a guest speaker from the community to present information on various issues important to our members. This is also an opportunity for new members to join and for individuals interested in MOMS Club to meet our active members.
Check out the website for more information on joining.  You can not join at the YMCA.  This is only the hosting site for monthly meetings.

THE YMCA OF PHILADELPHIA & VICINITY OFFERS FREE MEMBERSHIPS TO ARMED SERVICES FAMILY MEMBERS

The YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity is proud to support our area men and women who are actively serving in the United States military. To show these service men and women how much their sacrifices and the sacrifices of their family members mean to us, we’d like to remind everyone that immediate family members of active deployed duty military service members are eligible for free memberships at all ten branches of the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity. The membership is valid for six months with proof of active and deployed military status.

The military membership is fully funded by the Strong Kids annual support campaign. The Strong Kids Campaign enables the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity to fully realize its mission “to translate the principles of the YMCA’s Christian heritage into programs that nurture children, strengthen families, build strong communities, and develop healthy spirits, minds and bodies for all.” Affordability is essential to making the YMCA financially accessible. The Strong Kids Campaign generates funds to subsidize costs for people who otherwise could not afford to pay full price for YMCA programs and services, such as quality childcare and day camp.
