Adult Group Swim Lessons
Teens and adults overcome fear and refine strokes. Diving, treading water and personal safety skills can also be taught.
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification
Includes 30 hours of training in Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR-PR and AED certifications.
Aquacise =H20 + Exercise
Participants adjust the tempo and intensity to personalize a workout in this low impact environment.
Arthritis Aquatic Program
Taught in conjunction with the Arthritis Foundation, this class works on flexibility, range of motion and joints using gentle exercises and stretches.
Body Pump
This is the original barbell class. Designed for all ages and fitness levels delivering real results. This athletic-based workout uses barbells with adjustable weights to work every major muscle group in the body. WITH MOTIVATING MUSIC AND AWESOME INSTRUCTORS, BODYPUMP will help you strengthen, tone, and define your body.
Butts & Guts
It’s all in the name. A muscle conditioning workout targeting abs, glutes, and legs.
Dance Aerobics
Done to lively music. This co-ed program for intermediate/advanced members of any age. Dance Aerobics is a vigorous enjoyable aerobic exercise program, including muscle toning for a super overall workout.
Deep Water Power
A high powered workout utilizing deep water running techniques, interval training and resistance equipment. Water flotation belts are worn. It is not necessary to know how to swim.
Karate
Our Japanese Shotokan Karate emphasizes skills of self-control and discipline for all students. Advancement through all belts available. Chief Instructor: Joe Scheid
Private Swim Lessons & Special Swims
One on one instruction for any age. Special Swims accommodate students with special physical and mental needs, working with an instructor trained in adapted aquatics. Call Jennifer @ (215)632-0100 x 1329 to make arrangements. Four 1/2 hour lessons are included.
Personal Training
Our Personal Training Program provides specialized, one-on-one training by certified instructors to meet the needs of our members. Personal attention will guide you to a healthier body, mind, and spirit. This exercise program is designed based on your personal goals and your current level of fitness. Your personal trainer will work with you to optimize your physical and mental well-being , while teaching you techniques to help fit exercise into your busy schedule.
Pilates
A series of exercises performed on a mat that will help strengthen your core muscles. These exercises will help lengthen the muscles in your legs and hips, improve your posture, strengthen your back and flatten your
abdominals.
SCUBA Certification
Led by certified Diving Instructors from Underwater World, participants learn safety and SCUBA skills. Class fee includes equipment rental. To register, call Underwater World at 215-672-4180.
Tai Chi
A Chinese internal Martial Art. It’s combined nurturing of the Mind, Body and Spirit, increased balance and leg strength, increased heart and lung capacities, improved circulation and mental alertness. Tai Chi can be a life long commitment to better health.
TNT (Tummies-n-Thighs)
A great class for all fitness levels. Class includes isolation exercises for the entire abdominal region, hips, and inner and outer thighs. Class is in the shallow end of the pool.
Water Safety Instructor Certification
Includes WSI and Fundamentals of instructor training (FIT). Call for dates and times. Re-certification appointments available in all Red Cross Classes—215-632-0100 x1329.
Yoga
This class will explore basic poses (known as asanas) in a step-by-step series. We will focus on proper alignment of the bones and joints, which will lead to more efficient and intelligent muscles. Through practice, you will gain stability and flexibility, improve circulation, create space within the body, and bring a balanced flow of energy throughout the whole body. This is not soft music, lying down yoga—it will be vigorous and rewarding work. Please bring your own yoga mat.
ZUMBA
Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the ZUMBA participants to dance away their worries. It is based on the principle that a workout should be “FUN AND EASY TO DO” allowing ZUMBA participants to stick to the ZUMBA Fitness program and achieve long-term health benefits. ZUMBA is a “feel-happy” workout that is great for both the body and the mind.
