Abington YMCA Camp Programs
The Abington YMCA provides a safe, nurturing and fun camping experience for all children. Our goal is to provide your children with a safe and exciting atmosphere during day camp at the Abington YMCA. Campers will enjoy arts & crafts, character development activities, teambuilding excercises, Boost reading program, sports, nature studies, recreational swimming, instructional swimming and field trips. On Site ~ Specialty Camps
Dance Camp (Ages 6-12)
This popular camp offers dance instruction that includes, ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and other various samples. We also include arts & crafts, character development and more! Our dancers will prepping throughout the summer to perform in our 1st Annual YMCA Camp Gala that will be held on August 7th at 7pm. Campers MUST be registered weeks 5 through 8 in Dance Camp in order to participate in the dance portion of our show.

Sports Combo (Ages 9-12)
This camp includes soccer, basketball, baseball, hockey, lacrosse, football, and cooperative games. Basic skill development, games, scrimmages, values of fair play and sportsmanship will be taught.

Junior Rookies (Ages 6-8)
This co-ed sports and games camp will introduce younger campers to the basic rules and skills of a variety of team sports in a non-competitive atmosphere. Sports such as flag football, soccer, baseball, basketball, as well as traditional games such as kickball will be highlighted.

Gymnastics Camp (Ages 6-13)
Girls and boys will train in different age/ability groups in the YMCA Gymnastics Center. All pieces of apparatus are available for girls’ and boy’s gymnastics. Our gymnastics camp staff undergoes an extensive training program before starting. Campers of all ability levels are welcome from beginner to competitive level.

Basketball Camp (Ages 7-12)
This camp is designed to help players understand and learn the game of basketball. Basketball camp includes drills, teamwork, skills and games. Players will learn team work and how to compete at a higher level.

Martial Arts Camp (Ages 6-12)
Campers will learn the basic fundamentals and skills of martial arts. Campers will receive instruction from a qualified martial arts instructor in a fun and safe environment. Children will also learn self-discipline and self-confidence.

Little Explorers (Ages 4-5)
Welcome to an adventurous summer at a slower pace than Day Camp. Children will work on developing gross motor skills along with playing games, nature study, science experiments, story times, quiet time, crafts and much more. (Ratio is 6:1)

Critter Camp (Ages 6-9)NEW
Children will have the opportunity to learn about outdoor critters as well as the responsibility of caring for live animals in the YMCA facility. Our animals consist of baby bunnies, chick hatching project, baby guinea pigs and other small creatures. We will have hands-on activities with our pets and nature walks in our local nature center.

Cooking Camp (Ages 6-12) NEW
Campers will enjoy new twists on some favorite recipes… plus a focus on healthy cooking and food preparation. Kitchen safety and skills are emphasized. Children will offer samples at the end of the week.

Off Site Camps
Trailblazers (Ages 6-12)
This is your basic day camp program that children will love. Children will be broken up into appropriate age groups and enjoy various activities throughout the day. The YMCA focuses on Character Development, Teambuilding exercises, swimming, arts & crafts, science projects, group games, weekly field trips and more!

Leaders in Training Program (Ages 13-15)
The Leaders in Training is geared for teenagers who are interested in taking a leadership role at our camp program. Our teens will meet each morning and take part in workshops such as peer pressure, communication skills, conflict resolution, self-esteem and many others. Teens will branch off into groups during the week to observe and also lead games and activities with our counselors and campers. Teens interested in being a part of the L.I.T program must complete an application packet, which involves submitting two letters of reference. Once your packet & references have been completed, contact the camp director for an interview.

Art Camp (Ages 6-12) NEW
Does your child love the world of art? The Abington YMCA off-site camp now offers this for children who love art. Children will learn about sketching, sculpting, drawing, painting, murals and more! All materials will be covered in the camp fees. Children are asked to bring in a smock.

Tennis Clinic (Ages 6-12) NEW
This camp is for those children who love tennis. We will now offer three hours of tennis in the morning followed by mixing in with our Trailblazers in the afternoon to enjoy swimming, crafts, weekly field trips and more!

Cheerleading Camp (Ages 6-12)
Does your child love cheerleading? The Abington YMCA is now offering a camp that will teach your children proper stunt and jump techniques, tumbling and dance. Campers will present what they learned at the end of the summer gala.

Football Clinic (Ages 6-12)
The new camp is designed for children who are interested in learning the fundamentals of football and learning the proper moves, and also participate in our daily workout routine. Children will get three hours of football, drills and workout and then join in with the rest of our Trailblazers for swimming, trips, etc...

Adventure Camp (Ages 7-12)
Children will go on field trips each day such as the Jersey shore, Adventure Aquarium, Nockamixon State Park & Marsh Creek State Park. Transportation & amusement park fees are all included in camp fees.

Camp Magic (Ages 8-14)
Camp Magic is a full day of camp activities for children and young adults. Camp Magic holds the philosophy that special needs children should have the same opportunity to partake in many of the same types of activities as other campers. This camp offers positive integration with other campers when possible to enable all children to learn and appreciate other individuals. These campers must be ambulatory and able to function on a 1:4 ratio in a group setting. Activities are designed to provide a whole group experience while fulfilling individual needs. Theater Camp(Ages 8-14) TWO WEEK CAMP
Does your child love to sing, act and perform all the time? Well, the Abington YMCA is now offering this NEW camp for children who are interested in learning more about musicals, acting, producing shows, dances and much more. Our Theater Camp will give a mini presentation at our gala at the end of the summer.

The Abington YMCA now includes the following amenities to all of our on & off site camp locations.
- Your weekly camp fee now includes the camp day from 9 – 3:30 pm as well morning and afternoon extended care hours, giving you a 7am-6pm camp day!
