Position Purpose:

Develop and manage a variety of youth and adult programs that are responsive to member needs.  Participate in the cultivations and development of relationships that build member, staff and volunteer involvement.  Participate in fund raising through annual support, special events and third party sources.  Identify opportunities for programs that meet financial and service objectives.  Cultivate relationships with community leaders to ensure program effectiveness.  Administer program budget, materials, communication, marketing and promotion.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field, or a National Personsonal Training  Certification  (NSCA,ACSM,ACE, NEITA, AAAI, or other nationally recognized certification), 1-3 years practical experience in a health and fitness related positions, or have a comparable level of expertice, CPR and First Aid certified; obtain YMCA of the USA Principles of Health and Fitness within 3 months, become a USA Fitness Specialist within 6 months.
• Physical ability to perform intense orientations, evaluations and fitness programs.  Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability  to relay instructions in a clear and precise manner, and ability to relate to a diverse age and cultural membership.
• Ability to supervise staff, manage a budget, and proven competency to manage successful programs.
• Ability to operate personal computer, communicate via telephone and personally, ability to endure signfiicant physical activity.
