Beginner level for children who may be fearful, will focus on water orientation, comfort and safety. Children become comfortable getting face wet, blowing bubbles, and using instructional flotation devices. Floating, gliding, kicking and paddling with assistance are introduced.

Eel
For the advanced beginner who is comfortable with a class format. Eels should be able submerge and blow bubbles, use flotation equipment independently, and push of the wall unassisted. Child is introduced to the deep end, submerges whole body, and can jump in using flotation.

Ray
Intermediate class for the student who can float and glide on front and back independently without flotation. Child is able to swim ½ length of pool with flotation, and at least 5 feet without. By the end of the class, Rays will swim a full length with flotation, and should be able to go 10-15 feet without.

Starfish
Advanced class for students who can do a full arm motion of front crawl and backstroke, swim ½ length of pool independently without flotation, and tread water for 15 seconds. Starfish learn diving, improve breathing, stroke mechanics, and endurance.
