Every child deserves a chance to succeed and at the YMCA we focus on engaging kids in programs that help them to grow into strong adults. Day Camp, Before & After school care, Y Achievers, Sports, Swim lessons and Leaders Clubs help children develop a lifetime love of learning and instill the YMCA character values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Caring. Financial limitations prevent children from engaging in YMCA programs. Each year volunteers raise dollars to ensure that every child is afforded the opportunity to reach his or her full potential, regardless of financial circumstances.

Your Dollars At Work

Every year the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity is able to provide more than $2 million to serve children and families in need of financial assistance. Last year, the West Philadelphia Branch distributed $400,000 in financial assistance to over 400 individuals and families by:

• Enabling 116 children an opportunity to participate in Summer Day Camp.
• Providing 26 children the opportunity to participate in our licensed After school program.
• Keeping over 200 children active and engaged in Youth Sports, Aquatics, and the Health/Wellness programming.
