The YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity is a progressive Association, comprised of ten branches, located in Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs. The Ambler Area YMCA, located in beautiful Montgomery County, is looking for a experienced aquatics professional knowledgeable in complying with Aquatic regulations to provide leadership for one onsite and one offsite pool.
Position Purpose:
Provide leadership for the quality, safety and program growth for a thriving Aquatics Department. Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in: recruiting, training, developing and scheduling staff; budget development and adherence; program promotion; program retention; maintaining strong positive relationships with school district personnel; program inventory and supplies; and development of new programs/activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation or related field with 4-6 years of experience.
- Supervisory experience and experience working with volunteers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Current lifeguard, CPR-PR, FA required
- Lifeguard/CPR Instructor preferred
- CPO or YMCA POOL preferred
- YSLI or WSI preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit, stoop, run, climb and actively participate in activities related to the age of the group.
- Child Abuse Prevention Training and YMCA orientation are required within 90 days of hire.
