Are you interested in becoming a lifeguard?
Sign up for our 6-week Lifeguard Bootcamp to improve your swimming abilities, learn CPR and first aid, and master other skills that will help you prepare for the lifeguard certification course.
An America Red Cross certification course will run the week of November 4th for participants interested in getting certified after attending this boot camp. This program is open to community members ages 15 - 18. Students should bring goggles, a swim suit, and a towel.
Registration is required. The cost is $240 for members and $360 for non-members. The Red Cross Certification Course is $350. Discounts may apply. Speak to our Membership Team for more info.
Where:
This program will be held at the West Philadelphia YMCA.
When:
Orientation is available on September 9, 2024, from 5 - 6 PM.
This 6 week bootcamp runs from September 16 - October 23, 2024.
- Mondays from 5 - 7 PM in the pool
- Tuesdays from 5 - 6:30 PM in-person
- Wednesdays from 5 - 7 PM in the pool
A Red Cross lifeguarding course will be held after the boot camp over the course of 5 days:
- Monday, November 4, from 5 - 8 PM
- Wednesday, November 6, from 5 - 8 PM
- Friday, November 8, from 5 - 8 PM
- Saturday, November 9, from 9 AM - 4 PM
- Sunday, November 10, from 9 AM - 4 PM
