Phoenixville Pink Invitational News Post

This past weekend 21 gymnasts from the Phoenixville YMCA gymnastics team competed in the Pink Invitational. The Pink Invitational is a three-day gymnastics competition featuring over 4,000 gymnasts from Pennsylvania and surrounding states. It is the largest fundraiser for the Unite for HER Wellness Program, supporting breast cancer and ovarian cancer patients nationwide. All the gymnasts receive and compete in a leotard uniquely created for the competition, sending a message of unity, hope and love. 100% of the Pink Invitational profits are given to the Unite for HER Wellness Program. Overall the team was very successful, and had six all-around and individual event champions. The Phoenixville Gymnastics team has been competing in the Pink Invitational since 2015.

Meet Highlights:

Excel Platinum:

  • 2nd place team
  • Kaylee Empit (12 and under) - 2nd on vault, 1st on bars, 1st on beam, and 1st all-around (36.8)
  • Jasmine D’Angelo (12 and under) 1st on vault, 3rd on bars, and 2nd all-around (36.425)
  • Julianna Alcantara (12 and under) - 2nd on beam, 3rd on floor, 2nd all-around (36.15)
  • Paige McLeod (13) - 1st on vault, 2nd on beam, 3rd on floor, and 2nd all-around (37.025)
  • Victoria Quintois (16 and over) - 2nd on vault, 2nd on bars, and 2nd all around (36.7)

Excel Diamond:

  • Maggie Daley (14) - 3rd on vault
  • Lily Newcomb (15) - 3rd on vault, 3rd on bars
  • Addison Hawks (15) - 1st on floor
  • Rebecca Martz (16) - 3rd on beam
  • Alexa Irons (16) - 3rd on vault
  • Katie Ferretti (17 and over) - 2nd on vault

For each score of 9.0 and over, one additional dollar is donated to Unite for Her Wellness Program by the host team. The gymnastics team had 31 scores of 9.0 and above this weekend. The gymnasts that scored 9.0 or higher this weekend include:
