PHLY Lightning Swim Team Makes a Splash at Second Meet of the Season

The PHLY Lightning Swim Team brought the energy, excitement, and team spirit to the Christian Street YMCA for their second swim meet of the season!

This special intrasquad Spirit Meet brought together 80 swimmers, ages 6–14, for a fun-filled day of friendly competition as teammates faced off in a Blue vs. Yellow showdown! Swimmers competed in all four strokes—freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly—while cheering each other on and celebrating their accomplishments.

More than just a competition, the meet provided an opportunity for newer swimmers and their families to experience the excitement of a swim meet, build confidence, and prepare for future competitions.

One of the biggest highlights? The team's incredible growth! PHLY Lightning has grown from approximately 50 swimmers last season to an impressive 115 swimmers this year! Participation in the Spirit Meet also soared, from approximately 25–30 swimmers last year to 80 this season!

Next up, PHLY Lightning will hit the road for their first travel invitational of the season at the Boyertown Boo Swim Meet, October 24–25, 2026!

Congratulations to all our swimmers, coaches, and families for making this Spirit Meet such a success. We can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings!
