At the Y, were huge fans of soccer and how active and engaged it keeps kids of all ages. Soccer is an excellent sport for learning the importance of teamwork, strategy, and skill development.

Philadelphia Union Rec
The Rocky Run YMCA is excited to team up with the Philadelphia Union to bring Union Rec soccer to Media, PA! Union Rec is a recreational program that provides girls and boys with a fun, affordable, local neighborhood soccer experience. Over the course of the 7-week season, players will learn the game & have fun, all while playing alongside their friends in the local community. Union Rec will consist of 45-minute sessions, once per week for 7 weeks. All participants will receive a Philadelphia Union branded jersey and have two sessions that are run by Philadelphia Union youth coaches!

Instructional Classes
Dribble, pass, shoot and score! Join our instructors for this unique introduction to the world’s most popular sport. Participants will learn the basics of dribbling, passing, and attacking the goal through fun drills and teamwork. Soccer helps kids build endurance, increase muscle tone, bone strength, and promote heart health. Our trained instructors will help your child learn character development, sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork in a safe and fun environment.
Leagues
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA offers soccer leagues for children ages 3-17 at various branches. Soccer leagues are a fantastic way to learn the basic fundamentals of soccer while applying those skills in gameplay. Teamwork and sportsmanship are at the core of these leagues. Our instructors and volunteer coaches are provided curriculum & training resources and will teach skills in practice and apply them in games. Leagues run for 8 weeks and include a team jersey. All other equipment necessary will be provided by the YMCA.
