The Gun Violence Prevention program helps equip Pennsylvania’s youth with the life skills and lessons that allow them to succeed. Our evidence-based classes and facilitator-led programming strive to give participants new ways to deal with various stressful and dangerous situations without needing to resort to violence. In addition, we partner with local businesses and organizations to help our participants receive career training and opportunities that might not be available to them. We strive to offer our participants a safe space to discuss difficult situations and grow as individuals.

Program Details

The weekly programs are led by a facilitator who designs sessions to enhance communication and teach participants better ways to express themselves. We partner with local non-profits (such as the Art Apologues and Metal/Ironworkers) to supplement our teachings by offering career readiness workshops and promoting positive mental and emotional health. In addition, we offer career placement and advancement opportunities for our participants, partnering with major companies such as Target.
