Royersford, PA — March 5, 2026 — John Curcio, a New Hanover resident, is back for another year, arm-biking for 8 hours to support the Greater Philadelphia YMCA’s Annual Campaign.

A longtime member of the Spring Valley YMCA, John found a supportive community there after a roofing accident left him paralyzed more than 35 years ago. His daily workouts had such an impact on his recovery that he later joined the YMCA staff and is now a familiar face to everyone there. When he’s not assisting members, you’ll find him getting a workout on the arm bike nearly every day.

On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, John will pedal for hours to raise funds for the YMCA’s Annual Campaign and support ADA-inclusive programs, including Special Olympics, Dragonfly Summer Camp, Shooting Stars Basketball and more.

To support his effort, the Spring Valley YMCA will offer a schedule of themed group fitness classes, including cycling, barre, aerobics, line dancing and Zumba. The event will culminate in The Final Ride, where John is expected to cross the finish line with fellow supporters. See the full schedule here.

Participation is free and open to the public (ID required at check-in). Donations are encouraged. Corporate and business contributions are also welcome. The Y thanks LifeFitness / Hammer Strength and Capri Wealth Management for its dedicated support of this event.
