The YMCA Achievers program is a national college readiness program designed to help teens through academic support, career exploration, and mentoring. The Achievers program encourages teens to raise academic standards and explore diverse college and career options. Teens also develop a positive sense of self, build character, and interact with professionals who serve as role models. Meetings times and dates will vary by branch location in the Greater Philadelphia area and include field trips such as campus tours and industry visits.

Program Details

Achievers Programs vary based on the branch, but program participants can expect to meet weekly for approximately 2 hours. Additionally, programming will include weekend trips to local colleges, universities, industries, and businesses.

Registration is required to participate in and attend Achievers events and programs.

Director, Teen Development

Quan has an extensive background in youth development, recreation and athletics administration. A graduate of Philadelphia University, Quan focused on Architectural Studies which gave him a new means of problem solving; a skill he's utilized in various fields outside of the science from Georgian Court University and Temple University to LA Fitness and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. Quan has a passion and demonstrates the unique ability for working with youth and helping them to connect to their areas of interests and think beyond the right now and think about what's next! He's excited to launch our Y Achievers programs across the Association and has big plans in store!
