The Haverford YMCA provides an excellent gymnastics experience to children who participate to have fun while developing physical fitness, coordination, strength, and flexibility. For the gymnast who is interested in competing, the opportunity exists on one of the many different teams, and is handled on an individual basis. Our coaching staff is unique in the gymnastics world. Selected for their genuine love of children as well as their technical expertise, you will not find better coaches anywhere in the sport.

We participate in the Eastern Pennsylvania YMCA Girls Gymnastics League and USA Gymnastics. Gymnasts compete in league meets, invitational meets, and championship meets throughout each season. We also offer competitive gymnastics clinics and camps during the summer.

Our goal is to provide a positive, safe, fun environment where each gymnast can learn and grow, both as an individual gymnast and as a teammate. We strive to have each gymnast enjoy being a member of our team, achieve their individual competitive gymnastics goals to the best of their abilities, and simply enjoy gymnastics.

Prerequisite for Joining the Gymnastics Team

Before gymnasts are eligible to be evaluated for the Haverford Gymnastics Team, we require all potential gymnasts to meet specific prerequisites. These prerequisites ensure that our team members have a strong foundation in gymnastics, promoting their success and safety in our competitive program. There are two primary pathways for meeting these prerequisites:

  1. Youth Class Program Experience: We encourage gymnasts to join our youth class program to develop fundamental skills and gain experience. To be considered for the Haverford Gymnastics Team, completion of a Level 3 class and proficiency in all Level 3 skills is required.
  2. Prior Competitive Experience: Alternatively, individuals with prior competitive experience from another gymnastics club may also be eligible to join the Haverford Gymnastics Team. If you have competed at another club, please provide relevant documentation.

Registration Information

New Gymnasts: Any new gymnast to the team will be required to register for an evaluation prior to joining the team. Those who meet the prerequisites are able to register for an evaluation by contacting Senior Gymnastics Director and Head Coach, Natalie Wojcik directly at Natalie.Wojcik@philaymca.org.

Competitive teams register one full year in advance and additional fees are expected for travel, USAG registration fees, and team uniforms/accessories. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

Team Levels:  There are many different levels for our girls gymnastics team. The team practices year-round, and competes Fall - Spring. Some gymnasts will continue to compete into June depending on which championship meet that they qualify for.

We offer the USAG Women's Development Program and Xcel Program.

Evaluation Information

Dates: Evaluations for the 2026 - 2027 season take place May 1st - August 31st. We are unable to accept new team members after August 31st.
