The Willow Grove YMCA Twisters traveled to Fort Worth, Texas on Presidents' Day weekend to compete in the 2026 Metroplex Challenge, one of the most prestigious gymnastics competitions in the country. Billed as the world's largest gymnastics invitational, the Metroplex Challenge brings together thousands of athletes from across the nation to compete at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
The competition features women's and men's artistic gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling, and even NCAA collegiate quad meets, making it a true spectacle for the gymnastics community. Hosted by Metroplex Gymnastics, a family-owned program founded in 1975 by Sandy and Allen Streeter, this annual event has grown into a can't-miss destination on the competitive gymnastics calendar. The Streeter family has dedicated 50 years to developing young athletes, and the competition reflects that legacy of excellence.
