The Willow Grove YMCA Twisters brought the Eastern Pennsylvania YMCA Girls Gymnastics League (EPYGGL) home for an unforgettable weekend competition on February 21-22. The "Super Heroes in Motion" meet showcased the best of YMCA gymnastics, uniting teams from across the region including River Crossing, Greater Brandywine, Phoenixville, Haverford, and the new Greater Philadelphia YMCA teams.
As the final regular season league meet before teams head to Greater Brandywine YMCA for League Championships on March 21-22, the competition carried extra significance. The Willow Grove Twisters rose to the occasion, delivering exceptional performances in front of their hometown fans who packed the stands to support their athletes.
The weekend held special meaning as eleven Willow Grove seniors competed in their final home meet wearing the Twisters colors: Marissa Woodling, Peyton McQuade, Gianna Loss, Tori Bell, Remi Sasson, Hannah Winters, Emily Sanoy, Julia Johnson, Toni Dallas, Eva Buchakjian, and Abby Rosenbaum. The bittersweet moment was a celebration of their dedication, leadership, and the legacy they've built within the program.
Positive energy filled the gymnastics center throughout the weekend as gymnasts from all teams competed with heart, supported one another, and embodied the true spirit of YMCA athletics. The Twisters' hosting of "Super Heroes in Motion" proved that champions aren't just made on the podium—they're forged through community, sportsmanship, and unwavering determination.
As the league now turns its attention toward League Championships, the momentum and excitement from this home meet will carry forward, setting the stage for an incredible postseason showdown.

Mubarak has over two decades of expertise in gymnastics and acrobatics. He coaches athletes to achieve their dreams while having fun in the sport. His career includes tenure as a stuntman at Walt Disney World Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular Show, and a key role in winning the 2005 NCAA Gymnastics Team Championship at University of Oklahoma. Mubarak is a graduate in Political Science, and enjoys motorsports and quality time with his family.
