Havertown, PA —  One year ago, the Haverford Area YMCA opened the doors of its state-of-the-art, 11,000-square-foot Gymnastics Center at 4 Raymond Drive in Havertown, fulfilling a promise to young athletes and their families. To mark the milestone, the Y invites the community to a One-Year Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Haverford Gymnastics Center (4 Raymond Drive, Havertown, PA 19083). The event is free and open to community members of all ages.

The celebration will feature facility tours, a meet-and-greet with coaches and staff, information about programs and camps, equipment demonstrations (with time for guests to try the equipment themselves), a special performance by the Haverford YMCA Gymnastics Team, prizes and giveaways, and refreshments. Press is welcome to attend.

The past year has been transformative for the program. Since opening, the center has served hundreds of youth each session across recreational and competitive gymnastics offerings, taking full advantage of the facility’s foam pit, Resi Mat Systems, full-size competition floor, tumbling track, and array of vaults, bars, and beams. The center was purpose-built to accommodate more than 1,000 youth per 7-week session and support over 100 members of the Haverford Gymnastics Team, along with the potential to host YMCA-sanctioned Gymnastics Competitions.

Under the direction of Head Coach Natalie Wojcik, a decorated NCAA Division I gymnast and 10-year coaching veteran, the competitive team has continued its upward trajectory. Wojcik helped guide the University of Michigan to three Big Ten Championships and a National Championship during her own career and brings that standard of excellence to Havertown every day. The Haverford Gymnastics Team, which was re-established in 2019 with just 12 gymnasts, has grown to more than 50 athletes competing at various levels.

“A year ago, we opened the door to something special - a home for young gymnasts that could grow with them. Watching that promise come to life has been so much fun. The confidence, discipline, and joy we see in these young athletes is exactly why we made this investment. We’re excited to welcome the larger community in to see it for themselves,” says Katie Koch, Executive Director of the Haverford Area YMCA.
