MEDIA, PA — May 27, 2026 — The Greater Philadelphia YMCA will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its Rocky Run branch with a free community event on Sunday, June 7, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at 1299 West Baltimore Pike in Media, PA. A rain date is set for Sunday, June 14, at the same time.
The celebration will bring together longtime members, new neighbors, and friends of the Y for an afternoon of family-friendly fun. Activities will include a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables, a dunk tank, a foam party, face painting, a balloon artist, a photobooth, cotton candy and popcorn, carnival games with prizes, make-your-own sand art, music, giveaways, and more. Kona Ice and Traveling Toms Coffee Truck will also be on site (food trucks available on a pay-as-you-go basis). And kids can enjoy the popular Touch A Truck area. Admission is free and open to the entire community.
“For 25 years, Rocky Run has been a true gathering place for the Media community,” said Shaun Elliott, President & CEO for the Greater Philadelphia YMCA. “This party is our way of saying thanks to every member, volunteer, and neighbor who makes this branch what it is. We can’t wait to see what the next 25 years bring.”
Rocky Run’s roots trace back to the mid-1990s, when community volunteers began work to bring a Y to southern Delaware County. After a groundbreaking in June 1999, the branch opened its doors in 2001 — and immediately exceeded all expectations, welcoming 10,000 members in its first year against a projection of 3,000. The branch has since grown to encompass a full aquatics center, fitness facilities, group exercise studios, youth programming, childcare, and more, serving tens of thousands of individuals each year.
The Rocky Run YMCA offers a wide range of programs and services for individuals of all ages, including group exercise classes, lap and family swimming, youth sports and dance, gymnastics, martial arts, personal training, KidZone childcare, pickleball, boxing, an indoor track, a competitive swim team, and early learning and school-age child care programs. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
The June 7 anniversary celebration is free and open to all. No registration is required. The Rocky Run YMCA is located at 1299 West Baltimore Pike, Media, PA 19063. For more information, visit philaymca.org or call 610-627-9622.
