Chester, PAAugust 12, 2026 — Subaru of America, Inc. and the Philadelphia Union are giving Greater Philadelphia YMCA camp kids a taste of the big leagues, as they host approximately 200 campers on Friday, August 14 at the WSFS Bank Sportsplex in Chester, PA (2485 Seaport Drive).

The day begins with a 10:30 a.m. arrival at the WSFS Sportsplex, a state-of-the-art, 170,000-square-foot sports and recreation complex adjacent to Subaru Park. The Sportsplex features a 100,000 sq. ft. indoor facility available for community use and an adjacent 70,000 sq. ft. support building that houses Philadelphia Union II (MLS NEXT Pro) and Philadelphia Union Academy.

The campers, hailing from YMCA day camp locations across the Greater Philadelphia area, the City of Camden’s Summer Recreation Program and Rutgers Freedom School Summer Camp, will run through drills with Union coaching staff, get a behind-the-scenes tour of Subaru Park, meet the team’s popular mascot, Phang, and more.

This event is made possible by combined support from Subaru and the Philadelphia Union. Together, these organizations have also collaborated on multiple mini-pitch projects across Camden, giving kids greater opportunities for outdoor play and learning. “I commend our partners at Subaru of America, the Philadelphia Union, and The Y for providing this valuable day camp experience,” said Camden Mayor Victor G. Carstarphen. “This is another investment by our partners in the future development of our Camden’s youth. This is not only a day filled with activities but meaningfully opportunities to interact with and network with their peers.”

With more than 30-day camp locations, The Greater Philadelphia Y proudly bring the day camp experience to more than 6,300 youngsters in the region, and partners with the City of Camden and Rutgers-Camden to provide day camp to the city’s youth.
