History was made this past weekend as the Greater Philadelphia YMCA hosted the first-ever YMCA Pennsylvania Gymnastics State Camp at International Gymnastics Camp in Stroudsburg, PA. The groundbreaking two-day event brought together over 60 gymnasts and coaches from YMCA associations across the Commonwealth, marking a new chapter in Pennsylvania gymnastics.

The camp drew participants from every corner of the state, with dedicated teams making the journey from as far as Erie and Warren in northwestern Pennsylvania. This remarkable turnout demonstrated the strong commitment and enthusiasm within the gymnastics community statewide.
Throughout the weekend, September 27-28, participants experienced an intensive program designed to elevate skills, build connections, and set the stage for competitive success in the upcoming season. The camp provided invaluable opportunities for gymnasts to train alongside some of the state's top athletes while coaches exchanged ideas and techniques to enhance their programs.

A highlight of the camp was the participation of West Chester University's gymnastics coaches and athletes, who served as special clinicians. The WCU team brought exceptional energy to the training sessions, sharing collegiate-level expertise and providing technical skill coaching that inspired gymnasts at every level. Their presence offered young athletes a glimpse into the possibilities that lie ahead in their gymnastics journey.
Beyond skill development, the camp fostered a spirit of collaboration and camaraderie that exemplifies the core values. Gymnasts formed new friendships across association boundaries, while coaches built networks that will strengthen Pennsylvania's YMCA gymnastics programs for years to come.
As participants return to their home programs, they carry with them new skills, fresh perspectives, and the shared experience of being part of this historic gathering. The success of this inaugural State Camp sets a strong foundation for what promises to become an annual tradition, further cementing Pennsylvania's position as a leader in gymnastics.
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA extends its gratitude to all participants, coaches, and the West Chester University team for making this first Pennsylvania State Camp an overwhelming success. We look forward to continuing this tradition and watching our gymnasts soar to new heights in the season ahead.
