Media, PA — September 10, 2026 — The Rocky Run YMCA will kick off its fall youth soccer league season on Saturday, September 12, with a special MLS GO kickoff event featuring the Philadelphia Union. The event will bring together approximately 30 young soccer players and their families for a morning of soccer, skills development and family-friendly activities designed to get participants excited for the upcoming season.
Beginning at 9:30 a.m., young athletes will rotate through soccer skills stations led with support from Philadelphia Union and YMCA coaches. At approximately 10:00 a.m., participants will take the field to play their first MLS GO league games of the season. Throughout the morning, families will also have opportunities to take part in interactive activities and meet Phang, the Philadelphia Union mascot.
The kickoff marks the beginning of the Rocky Run YMCA’s MLS GO youth soccer league program, which gives young players the opportunity to build their soccer skills, experience game play, and learn teamwork and sportsmanship in a supportive environment.
“This kickoff is about giving kids a reason to fall in love with the game and with being part of a team,” said Bryan Ford, Association Sports Director at the Greater Philadelphia YMCA. “With the Philadelphia Union and MLS GO alongside us, our young players get an unforgettable start to their season — learning skills, making friends, and building the confidence that carries well beyond the field.”
