The Y and the LIVESTRONG Foundation have joined together to create LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a research-based physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health.
Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength; increasing flexibility and endurance; and improving confidence and self-esteem. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is helping people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind, and body.
This program is open to adults 18 years or older who are members and non-members at no cost.
Spring programs:
The Ambler YMCA program meets Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:00 - 2:30 PM beginning March 11, 2026.
Did you know we also offer a Strong Survivors group exercise class? It's a great class for Cancer Survivors consisting of cardiovascular conditioning, resistance training, and balance & flexibility. The class offers 45 minutes of movement and allows for 15 minutes of open discussion afterward.
The class meets on Wednesdays from 12 - 1 PM in the Multipurpose Room.
