Phoenixville YMCA Swim Team Recognized Among Top 200 in the US

The Phoenixville YMCA has been awarded Bronze Medal status, ranking it among the Top 200 swim clubs in the nation, by USA Swimming.

A member of the Middle Atlantic Swimming LSC (Local Swimming Committee), Phoenixville was recognized alongside 8 other clubs in the region. In total, USA Swimming recognized 200 clubs nationally in their 2022-2023 Club Excellence Program.

Now in its 23rd year, the program recognizes USA Swimming’s highest-performing clubs in the development of athletes 18 years and younger. The primary objective of the program is to promote:

• The development of strong, well-rounded programs that produce elite athletes 18 years and younger
• Resources to motivate and assist USA Swimming member clubs to achieve the highest performance ideals
• Grant funding
• Continued excellence in the sport

Swimming and swim instruction is a vital part of the work done every day at the YMCA. The Y is arguably America’s most-prolific swim instructor, having taught millions to safely navigate water, and turn it into a lifelong health and wellness pursuit. Many of the sport’s greatest athletes got their start in a YMCA pool.

What’s more, YMCA Swim Clubs are widely regarded for their athlete development, and their ability to bring communities and regions together.
