AOA Clubs & Activities
At the Y, we believe staying active is an excellent way to connect to a healthier and longer life!
For many seniors in our neighborhoods, the Y is a place to spend time with friends new and old while engaging in physical activity, social game days, and various support groups.
We have a variety of groups and activities for our Active Older Adult (AOA) members to enjoy! The following clubs and activities are free to all those who have senior memberships through the Y. Many seniors have access to free memberships through insurance partnerships.

Book Club meets each month to discuss their latest read!

Community Outreach Clubs & Activities
The Greater Philadelphia Y is dedicated to supporting people in our communities on their journeys for long-term health!
Through external partnerships and Y initiatives, we are able to offer programming which provides free memberships and additional to support to those who can most benefit from access to our facilities. This includes clubs & activities for cancer survivors, expecting mothers, veterans, and more.
Our community outreach programs continually expand to meet the needs of the community. Find more info on available options below.
This is a research-based physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health. Livestrong at the YMCA is open to adults 18 years or older who are members and non-members at no cost.

We are proud to offer the Maternal Wellness Initiative, which helps soon-to-be mothers stay healthy and active during their pregnancy. This program provides free membership to the Y and programming tailored to expectant moms from their pregnancy through early motherhood.

This program is geared toward veterans and spouses or partners of all ages and abilities who are looking to get back to a healthier lifestyle.

Special Interest Clubs & Activities
We offer a variety of groups, clubs, and activities designed to bring people together around shared interests—from gardening to hobby-based gatherings and more. These programs are open to members of all ages, creating opportunities for connection and fun at every stage of life.
We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and experiences to join in, explore new interests, and build community together.
This breastfeeding support group for moms is open to member and non-members and is facilitated by local International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Brooke. She owns and runs Brooke Knows Breast, an IBCLC is a healthcare professional who specializes in the clinical management of breastfeeding. Through this group, Brooke and other moms will offer support and guidance.

We're looking for volunteers to help us plant, water, weed, and harvest our community garden. All of the garden's bounty is donated to local food banks, hospitals, nursing homes, and Meals on Wheels groups.
This volunteer option is open to the community.

Craft Club meets each month to make amazing creations to keep, gift, or donate!

Sports Clubs & Teams
The Y is proud to offer facilities where our members can train for and play their favorite sports!
Sports teams give athletes dedicated practice times, and allow them to sharpen their skills through gameplay and competitions. If your kids love Y youth programs, then sports teams are the best next step for them.

Our gymnastics team provides an excellent gymnastics experience to children who participate to have fun while developing physical fitness, coordination, strength, and flexibility. For the gymnast who is interested in competing, the opportunity exists on one of the many different teams, and is handled on an individual basis.

Teen Leadership Programs
The Y offers many programs for teens where they can experience a variety of career, college, and civic engagement pathways.
We develop and manage social responsibility programs across the region that enhance the life and well-being of teens by providing high-quality, impact-focused programs that expose them to new opportunities, new perspectives, and new skill development offerings to help prepare them for their future.
The YMCA Achievers program is a national college readiness program designed to help teens through academic support, career exploration, and mentoring.
Whether you're exploring college, trade school, the military, or career training, Y Achievers gives middle and high school students the tools, support, and confidence to build a successful future.
Meeting Time:
Wednesdays from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Imagine students confidently debating policies impacting their neighborhoods, crafting legislation for social change, and running for mock office. This is the experience and real-world impact students have participating in the YMCA’s Youth Civic Engagement program.
This program includes the two major subprograms: Model United Nations (MUN) and Youth and Government (YAG).
