The Willow Grove YMCA boys' gymnastics team made a remarkable start to 2024, showcasing their talent and determination at the 2024 Jose Strong ASAP Challenge held at Artistic Sports Academy Plus (ASAP) in Harrisburg on January 6th and 7th. The team's outstanding performance left a lasting impression on the competition, earning them well-deserved recognition.

Team Success:
  • The Level 3 D1 boys secured an impressive second-place team finish, demonstrating their collective strength and skill.
  • The Level 3 D2 boys also displayed exceptional teamwork, clinching a remarkable second-place team finish.
Top 3 Finishers:
  • In the Level 4 D1 division, Jason Raysor emerged as a standout performer, clinching the prestigious 1st Place in the All-Around. His remarkable skills were evident as he claimed 1st Place titles in Rings and Vault, as well as 2nd Place finishes in Parallel Bars and Highbar. Jason also secured a commendable 3rd Place finish in Pommel Horse.
  • Ben Coleman, competing in the Level 3 D1 division, showcased his talent and determination. He clinched 1st Place titles in Highbar and Vault, along with 2nd Place finishes in Floor, Pommel Horse, Parallel Bars, and a commendable 2nd Place All-Around performance.
  • Ian Pack delivered exceptional routines in the Level 3 D1 division, earning 1st Place titles in Floor and Rings. He also secured 2nd Place in Parallel Bars and a 3rd Place finish in Highbar.
  • Lucas Sims made his mark with a 3rd Place finish in Vault, while Luca Sarullo displayed his skills with a 3rd Place finish in Floor.
  • In the Level 3 D2 division, Zayn Jones made an impressive debut, securing 1st Place in the All-Around. He also achieved 2nd Place finishes in Parallel Bars and Highbar, along with a 3rd Place finish in Pommel Horse.
  • Nick Mapp showcased his talents with 2nd Place finishes in Floor and Pommel Horse, while Xavier Pattillo demonstrated his skills with 3rd Place finishes in Rings and High Bar. Andrew Dohan contributed to the team's success with a 3rd Place finish in Vault.

The Twisters boys' team will be competing at the Brian Babcock Invitational at Parkettes in Allentown, PA, scheduled for February 2nd through the 4th. Mubarak has over two decades of expertise in gymnastics and acrobatics. He coaches young athletes to achieve their dreams while having fun in the sport. His career includes tenure as a stuntman at Walt Disney World Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular Show, and a key role in winning the 2005 NCAA Gymnastics Team Championship for the University of Oklahoma. Mubarak is a graduate in Political Science, and he enjoys motorsports and quality time with his family.
