The Greater Philadelphia Y is dedicated to supporting people in our communities on their journeys for long-term health!

Through external partnerships and Y initiatives, we are able to offer programming which provides free memberships and additional to support to those who can most benefit from access to our facilities. This includes clubs & activities for cancer survivors, veterans, and more.

This is a research-based physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health. Livestrong at the YMCA is open to adults 18 years or older who are members and non-members at no cost.

Members living with Parkinson's Disease can join our FREE wellness program. This 12-week program includes non-contact boxing, cardio, and strength exercises that focus on balance, flexibility, confidence, and improving quality of life.

Punching Back at Parkinson's is open to Y members ages 14 and older. Registration is required.

Special Interest Clubs & Activities

We offer a variety of groups, clubs, and activities designed to bring people together around shared interests—from book club discussions to hobby-based gatherings and more. These programs are open to members of all ages, creating opportunities for connection and fun at every stage of life.

We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and experiences to join in, explore new interests, and build community together.

Calling all book worms! Join our Book Club at the Y! We're hosting a monthly book club at the Y and we want you to join the fun! Each month we will have a new book to read before we meet to discuss it! Books for the 2025-26 year were selected by members.

This club is free and open to members ages 18+. Registration is not required.

When:

Book Club meets from 12:00 - 1:00 PM on the last Wednesday of each month between September and July.

We're now offering Toddler Time, an open play option geared toward ages 1 - 5. Toddlers can play openly on the gymnastics equipment with the guidance and supervision of their parents/caregivers. Parents/caregivers are required to stay with their children for the whole time.

This open play is free and available to members only. Registration is not required.

Teen Leadership Programs

The Y offers many programs for teens where they can experience a variety of career, college, and civic engagement pathways.

We develop and manage social responsibility programs across the region that enhance the life and well-being of teens by providing high-quality, impact-focused programs that expose them to new opportunities, new perspectives, and new skill development offerings to help prepare them for their future.

The YMCA Achievers program is a national college readiness program designed to help teens through academic support, career exploration, and mentoring.

Whether you're exploring college, trade school, the military, or career training, Y Achievers gives middle and high school students the tools, support, and confidence to build a successful future.

Meeting Time:

Wednesdays (2nd & 4th each month) from 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Program Info

Imagine students confidently debating policies impacting their neighborhoods, crafting legislation for social change, and running for mock office. This is the experience and real-world impact students have participating in the YMCA’s Youth Civic Engagement program.

This program includes the two major subprograms: Model United Nations (MUN) and Youth and Government (YAG).
