
We're celebrating Juneteenth with our community! We'll discuss the history and importance of this day before we begin celebrations including crafts, group ex dance classes, spoken word performances, and more!
This FREE event is open to the community and registration is not required.

5:00 PM - Welcome & Introduction
A warm welcome to all attendees and an introduction to the purpose and spirit of the Juneteenth celebration.
5:10 PM - Juneteenth History Overview
A brief look into Juneteenth history with a special focus on the West Philadelphia community, followed by a broader historical context of Juneteenth's national significance.
5:30 PM - Youth Arts & Crafts Activities
Children will enjoy themed activities including Juneteenth coloring sheets and DIY African mask-making using paper plates and traditional patterns
6:00 PM - Family Zumba & African Dance
A lively and inclusive movement session celebrating African culture through music and dance.
6:30 PM - Spoken Word Performance
An engaging and powerful performance reflecting on freedom, culture, and resilience.
6:50 PM - Closing Remarks
A closing message of unity, hope, and ongoing commitment to community growth and celebration.
